Steel elbows, called segmented or miter elbows in the industry, are manufactured by welding of bended plates. Segmented elbows, which are generally requested for large diameters of 24” and above, make it easier to meet customer needs with the advantage of fast delivery for both large diameter requests and different wall thicknesses. These elbows, produced by welding of 3 to 10 segments depending on the degree of elbow, are mainly used in large diameter water and steam lines that do not contain high pressure.
